Yesterday, the ninth rehearsal for Rodgers + Hammerstein’s Cinderella by Tupelo Community Theatre was a whirlwind of steps, stakes, and stories – all centered around one of the show’s most emotionally charged locations: Madame’s Cottage.
Though the set is purely in the cast’s imagination for the moment, they brought the scene to life – displaying the multitudes contained inside the cottage. It’s where Cinderella is mistreated, where secrets hide behind lace curtains, and where moments of quiet rebellion take root.
