Gavotte and Sneak Peeks Galore
Greetings, dearest friends of magic and wonder! The enchantment deepens with every rehearsal at the Tupelo Community Theatre. Coming up: Gabrielle’s introduction video has been moved to next week, but Madame and Charlotte are on time and fabulous. Check out their cast intros below, then a sneak peek at the cast dancing through The Gavotte!
This week’s rehearsals were an absolute spectacle of grace and laughter!

This week largely centered around dancing and choreography, with our actors twirling and laughing their way across the imaginary ballroom floor and mingling in the background as the main cast sings.
Thursday saw the cast take a day off to watch The Guys, a TCT Production directed by Allana Austin and starring Zach Bragg. It is a somber story about human connection in the wake of disaster, and premiered last night at The Lyric to rave reviews. Learn more on the TCT Facebook page.
The upcoming Sunday rehearsal was cancelled so the cast could celebrate Mother’s Day and make it magical for their families. The next rehearsal will be on Monday, at the Lyric Theatre, with our next update on Tuesday morning.
Cinderella Cast Introductions
Our delightful cast continues to sparkle brighter than glass slippers as they prepare to enchant Tupelo with Rodgers + Hammerstein’s Cinderella.
Meet Lisa Ross - Madame, the Evil Stepmother
Behold the enchanting Lisa Ross, whose portrayal of Madame, the evil stepmother with a flair for the dramatic, will surely dazzle.
Meet Julie Grisham - Charlotte, the Evil Stepsister
Alongside her is Julie Grisham as Charlotte, the evil stepsister whose comedic charm is guaranteed to fill the theatre with laughter.
Sneak Peek - The Cast Practices The Gavotte
Our diligent performers continued polishing their steps to perfection for “The Prince is Giving A Ball” and started on the whimsical “Gavotte.” Watching them dance with such joy and precision, one can scarcely believe they only just started learning this. Dance coordinator Brice Stone deserves a special sprinkle of magic dust for guiding our talented ensemble so effortlessly through these delightful scenes!
Counting Down to the Grand Ball
With every passing rehearsal, costume stitch, and set piece placed, anticipation grows for both cast and crew. The magic in the air is almost palpable!
Stay enchanted, sweet friends, as I continue to share delightful peeks behind the scenes, tales from our charming cast, and magical moments leading us closer and closer to opening night! Starting next week, the cast will be rehearsing full time in the newly renovated Lyric Theatre as set construction begins.
See you on Tuesday – and I’ll be bringing more cast introductions and the start of Set & Costume Progress Pictures!
With endless enchantment,
