Can you believe it? Only twenty days remain before the Lyric Theatre’s stage is transformed into a world of glittering gowns, dashing princes, and one very determined young woman who dares to dream!
Meet Kenny Cook - Sebastian
Every good fairy tale needs a twist of cunning to balance its sweetness. Enter Sebastian, the Prince’s scheming and self-important advisor, being brought to life by the talented Kenny Cook.
His scenes with Jesse Watkins’ Prince Topher sparkle with tension and sly humor – a true joy to behold!
Stepsister's Lament - Sneak Peek (and a Royal Blooper!)
Now, my dears, what is a behind-the-scenes update without a bit of whimsy and a few giggles?
The cast spent a portion of this week’s choreography session polishing the ever-entertaining “Stepsisters’ Lament,“ with Charlotte, played by Julie Grisham, leading the cast members through the song with the perfect balance of bluster and hilarity.
But even in the land of fairy tales, the occasional blooper must find its way onto the rehearsal floor! In the final moments of the number, none other than our dashing Prince Topher (Jesse Watkins) forgot his cue, leaving a momentary pause and a ripple of laughter throughout the room.
Such moments of camaraderie and good humor are the very heartbeat of this production, and a reminder that beneath the polish of performance lies a family of artists supporting one another every step of the way.
Madame Has Expensive Tastes
Of course, no tale of transformation is complete without a dash of villainy – and our own Lisa Ross as Madame delivers wickedness with unparalleled flair!
Lisa has truly embraced the art of the elegant villainess – sharp of tongue, grand of gesture, and delightfully unrepentant. I dare say her Madame will leave quite the impression on our audiences come June 26th.
Until Next Time
And so, my dear ones, another week flutters past as we draw ever closer to our grand premiere. With only twenty days remaining, the final layers of magic are being spun into place.
Until then, dears – may your days be merry, your dreams be bold, and your countdown to Cinderella be full of magic!
With a twinkle of my wand and a swirl of stardust,
