Crafting the Fairy Tale with Director Lisa Martin

Our enchanting journey continues! Tupelo Community Theatre’s rehearsal space has been brimming with excitement as the cast of Cinderella learns to dance the Gavotte for the royal ball.

Before we jump to our main feature, a quick update: This past week, our talented dance captain Brice Stone guided the cast gracefully through the elegant Gavotte scene leading up to Cinderella’s magical entrance at the royal ball, followed by the delightfully mischievous Ridicule scene. Oh, how beautifully the story is unfolding with each step!

And now for the main presentation – a sit down interview with our director, exploring the creative process fueling this magical production.

Crafting the Fairy Tale with Director Lisa Martin

From her first feelings on bringing Cinderella’s heartfelt dreams to life on stage, to what she’s looking forward to on opening night, Lisa offers a peek into her creative process as the director of the production.

Until Next Time

The Lyric stage is currently being occupied by actors practicing for TCT’s production of The Guys (premiering this week, get your tickets now). Starting next week, the magic of Cinderella will start dancing across the stage of The Lyric Theatre with every rehearsal as set construction begins.

On Friday we’ll have three more cast introduction videos:

Lisa Ross, playing Madame (the evil stepmother)

Julie Grisham, playing Charlotte (the evil stepsister)

Morgan Bailey, playing Gabrielle (the good stepsister)

Stay tuned, dear hearts, as we continue to share glimpses from rehearsals, insights from our marvelous cast and crew, and the magical moments leading us ever closer to opening night!

With magic and affection,
