Week One Recap: Cinderella Takes Shape!
Greetings, dear ones! It’s your Fairy Godmother here, delighted to bring you updates from our first enchanting week of production! It has truly been sprinkled with fairy dust and already filled with magical moments from our talented cast and dedicated crew.
Monday: Full Cast Read-Through
Oh, Monday was simply magical! Our charming cast gathered together for the first full script read-through.
This was the cast’s first time hearing the entire story come to life, and their first opportunity to start breathing magic into their roles. Everyone was encouraged to develop their characters and breathe life into them – and it was magical seeing the cast start settling into their characters in response.
As each performer discovered their character’s voice, the story truly began to sparkle with life.
Tuesday: Chorus Music Rehearsal
On Tuesday, our chorus gathered around the piano for their first musical rehearsal.
Under the guidance of our musical director, David East, the chorus tackled harmonies, melodies, and began shaping the sound that will fill the theater.
The rehearsal room was lively, energetic, and filled with the beginnings of some truly magical sounds.
Thursday: Main Cast Music Rehearsal
On Thursday, it was time for our main cast to enchant us with their first rehearsals of key musical numbers.
And there were plenty of happy moments in the process!
Highlights included early renditions of favorites like “Impossible” and “Stepsister’s Lament.”
The rehearsal showcased the vocal talents of our leads and gave everyone a taste of the beautiful music audiences can expect.
We’re off to a fantastic start, with magic already beginning to show in the fun moments shared between the cast members.
