Introducing: Lord Pinkleton, The Royal Announcer

Greetings, my dearest pumpkins and princesses! Our Cinderella cast has been stepping closer to an unforgettable fairytale experience at the Lyric Theatre – under five weeks until the premiere! Today’s post contains enchanting updates, an introduction from Lord Pinkleton, and a glimpse at our dance coordinators demonstrating The Gavotte.

Such wonderful delight has been unfolding on the stage since Tuesday. The cast practiced choreography for a variety of scenes, but most of the focus was on two in particular: Ten Minutes Ago and its Reprise. These scenes hold the magical moments when Ella and Topher (and other cast members) join together in dance and sing out their feelings.

On Wednesday, our dazzling ladies spent time perfecting the delightfully humorous and ever-so-expressive choreography for the Stepsister’s Lament, while  our gallant gentlemen polished the exhilarating choreography for The Pursuit. Afterward, the entire cast gathered to gracefully rehearse the elegant steps of The Gavotte and began weaving their spellbinding dance for Ten Minutes Ago and its charming reprise.

Thursday brought more delightful refinement, as the cast practiced and perfected Ten Minutes Ago, bringing out every ounce of romance and grace these iconic scenes demand. Then they continued to delve deeper into the choreography of the Ten Minutes Ago Reprise, adding sprinkles of fairy dust to each step. During these sessions, several of cast members slipped away for personalized scene work under the watchful eye of our dear director, Lisa Martin.
